About Us

Grit City Entertainment was founded by Terrell M. Phabian, aka T-Money, in 2007.  Terrell was born in the small town of New Haven MI, where he developed a love for music growing up.  At the age of 13 years old, he began taking saxophone lessons, which deepened his music appreciation.  By the time he reached 16 years of age, Terrell had successfully graduated from high school with honors, and enrolled in college where he began majoring in Criminal Justice.
In 2000, Terrell moved to Phoenix Arizona, where he again focused his attention to his love of music.  In a chance meeting with a local Phoenix artist by the name of “White Widow”, Terrell had the opportunity to hear several tracks that this talented artist had written.  It was at this moment that the concept for an Indie label became very clear, and Grit City Entertainment was born. They immediately began working on the White Widow debut album entitled, Gratefully Unsatisfied. After many long hours in the studio, Grit City Entertainment released the album on February 1, 2008.  White Widow’s honest lyrics about life, family, and the struggle; along with his strong gritty delivery demonstrates that hip hop is very much alive.  The album features the hit singles, Love Hate Relationship and MVP, which is available for purchase on this site.
In 2008, while attending a local venue in Phoenix, Terrell also discovered the talent of local hip hop artist Lil’ Frank, aka “The Memphis Maniac”.  In May of 2008, Grit City Entertainment signed The Memphis Maniac to the label where he recorded his first single, My Hood.  Lil’ Frank brings the raw Dirty South club bangers to the southwest with his clever lyrics and unique style. The debut album is scheduled for release in early 2009.
In 2009, while living back in Michigan Terrell  ran into a local artist by the name D.Mighty  after several attempts to get D.Mighty into the studio he finally came in and dropped a jewel called Don’t Close The Door,  they began working on his album immediately, Terrell ended up having to move back to Phoenix in June of 2010 but D.mighty has made several trips in order to get the project done singles will be released around Christmas of 2010 look forward to the smash hits WE GOTTA GET IT AND CANDY
